Marriage and Relationships - 6 Creative Ways to Reconnect With Your Spouse

Do you know how many couples in marriages drift apart over time and eventually have nothing in common? Consistently spending quality time together is one of the best ways to stay in touch with your spouse. Many couples are so busy with work and raising a family that they have trouble finding time for each other and their relationship suffers.

With all of the responsibilities in life, how do you carve time out of your schedule for your mate? Here are six creative ways to connect with your spouse:

1. Turn Off the Television

The time you spend watching television is not quality time spent interacting and getting to know your mate intimately. Instead of experiencing reality T.V., experience a real relationship.

2. Schedule a Regular Date Night

A date night does not have to be expensive or elaborate. The most important thing is being with each other and sharing your life, hopes and dreams.

3. Work on Mutual Projects or Hobbies Together

You bond with each other while working together on a hobby or mutual project. It also helps you to continue to have common interests and goals.

4. Exercise Together

Your heart gets two work-outs at once: one physical and one emotional.

5. Meet for a Lunch Date

If your evening schedule is too hectic for one-on-one time, schedule to get together at lunch.

6. Prioritize

It all boils down to your priorities. Everyone has the same twenty-four hours in a day. You will make time for the things that are the most important to you.

Identity Theft Prevention Tips - All Internet Users Need To Know

If you are a frequent internet user, then you should definitely be concerned about identity theft. Every year 10 million people fall victim to identity theft. You can avoid becoming a victim by not giving out your personal information and making sure your computer is properly protected.

Whatever you do online, make sure you refrain from giving out your personal information to people who you don't know. If you receive an email from your bank or other financial institution asking for information, do not click on the link in the email. Call the bank or institution or enter their web address in your internet browser directly. Financial institutions should not be requesting information through email. If yours does, then you may want to consider closing your account and switching to a different institution.

When making a purchase online, do not enter your credit card information unless you are on a secure internet page. A secure internet page can be identified by an "https" prefix to the web address instead of the typical "http" prefix. Many times you will also notice a symbol of a closed padlock to indicate a secure webpage as well.

You can further prevent online identity theft by choosing difficult-to-crack passwords. You should use passwords with a mixture of numbers, capital letters, and lowercase letters and symbols at least eight characters in length, but the more the better. Make sure you avoid using the same password for every site. Instead, write the websites and their usernames and passwords down on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe and inconspicuous yet accessible place. Just make sure you do not save them as a file on your computer. As a matter of fact, make sure you do not store any personal information such as credit card numbers or social security numbers on your computer, cell phone, or other electronic device.

You also want to make sure your computer protection software is up to date. It is imperative this day in age to have good antivirus, anti-spyware and firewall installed and constantly updated. You can find a lot of good free software out there that will perform these tasks just fine, but many of them do not update automatically. For ultimate online protection, it is usually worth the price to purchase a good internet security system. This will ensure your computer security, and your private information is kept up to date.

Now that you know how to prevent becoming a victim of online identity theft, it's time to put these methods to use. Just remember, be very skeptical about strange emails and make sure you make purchases from a trusted, secure website. It is also a good idea to use many difficult-to-crack passwords and ensure your computer protection software is up to date. By following these methods you can significantly lower your chance of being one of the 10 million yearly victims of identity theft.

Tales from the Corporate Frontlines: Human Resources at Work

This article relates to the Human Resource Functions competency, commonly evaluated in employee satisfaction surveys. It reflects one employee's satisfaction with the manner in which her HR department carried out their work. This competency examines how your employees feel with regards to the quality and implementation of the human resource role within your organization. A human resource department that is properly informed of employee issues, demonstrates a high integrity level, and communicates effectively with staff and management should expect a high satisfaction level in this competency area.

This short story, Human Resources at Work, is part of AlphaMeasure's compilation, Tales From the Corporate Frontlines. It illustrates how a competent, compassionate staff can perform their HR functions and really make a difference in the lives of employees, creating goodwill that spreads throughout the workplace.

Anonymous Submission: Human Resources at Work

I've worked at a few different companies, and never had much interaction with human resources departments, other than hiring and benefits enrollment paperwork.

I'd like to tell you about one staff member who really made a difference in my life. Stricken with a sudden and very debilitating sickness, I was completely confused about my benefits and responsibilities with regard to time off for treatment, and the coverage provided by my company-paid health insurance plan. I'd rarely even been sick before, and never hospitalized.

I called work from my hospital bed to tell my manager what had happened. I asked a few questions about my options and he told me he hadn't a clue---and offered to transfer my call to the HR department. I really didn't know what to expect. I had heard some lunchroom complaints abut nasty attitude over the years, but had no reason to expect a problem in this situation. Still, I was nervous.

I needn't have been. Julie was kind, helpful, and very efficient. She had a broad base of knowledge about my benefit programs and the sequence of procedures that I should follow. There were a few areas that seemed questionable, but she promised to get answers and get back to me. She fulfilled that promise quickly and efficiently.

Over the next few weeks, which proved to be a trying period, Julie was always there for me. She helped me process paperwork, contacted the proper home office departments on my behalf, and did everything she could to minimize the stress involved in my recovery. "You just concentrate on getting better, I'll take care of everything at this end", she would say to me whenever things got too confusing. She really understood my distraction and took over for me when I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm sure there were times when another person would have lost her cool and become frustrated, but Julie never did.

I recently returned to work after a long rehabilitation period. I'm feeling much better now, and see and speak to Julie less often. When I think of the people who were most responsible for helping me to recover, I always think of her. She took responsibility to assist me, and did a fantastic job. She knew how to handle my issues, and was masterful at effective communication. Julie is an asset to our human resources department, and reached the standard that I believe all professionals in this field should strive for.

5 Strategies That Will Boost Your Business Productivity Today! - Part 2

Growing your own small business can be one of the most exciting journeys you could ever embark upon!

But it's important that you continuously implement new and fresh ways to generate sales and improve your profitability in order to stay ahead of the market!

Here are the next 5 Strategies to help you propel your business to new heights of success!

1. Develop your own Loyalty Program

If you have a look in my wallet, I have a Jesters Pies Card, a Subway Card and a Video Ezy card - all of which entitle me to something for nothing once I have made enough purchases!

Some people will call me cheap...I just think it makes sense! If I'm going to buy something anyway...why not go somewhere that rewards me for my loyalty?

If people have to buy your type of product or service from somewhere, why not make it more attractive for them to buy from you?

Create your own loyalty program and create regular, satisfied customers who get rewarded for giving you their business!

2. Collect email addresses from your clients (with their permission!)

The most cost effective form of marketing today is via email and if you haven't already started collecting your client's email addresses then start today. You may wonder how that could possibly help you grow your business, but let me give you an example.

I recently heard of a Hairdresser who started collecting email addresses from her clients each time they came to have their hair cut - with the promise that she would keep them informed of any specials that she might be offering.

Now, when she looks at the next week's bookings - if there are lots of spare appointments she fires out an email to all of her clients offering a special for 'Next Week Only!' - and bingo! She has a full week of appointments.

She's happy and her clients are made to feel even more special that they've picked up a reward for their loyalty!

3. Create your own monthly newsletter

Every business has something interesting to share with their clients and I'm sure yours is no exception! Once again, by using your email addresses, you can provide a very low cost service to your clients, and give you an excuse to keep in touch with them every month.

If you're an accountant, then why not provide financial tips relating to the time of year. Eg GST info, Tax Tips etc.

If you are a mechanic, what about some tips for keeping your engine running smoothly. Eg Checking the oil and water, tyre pressure etc.

Maybe you're a Lawnmowing contractor...what about suggestions for keeping your grass green and lush according to the different seasons.

Of course each month you can also offer 'specials' to your loyal clients to bring in extra profits during the quieter times. In the meantime, you're building a stronger relationship with your existing clients.

4. When was the last time you raised your prices?

Here's an instant way to increase your profits!

Are you underselling your services? Have you checked what your competitors are charging recently?

By adding some of the value added services that I've already addressed in the previous questions, you can probably also add some increases to your pricing without too much drama from your clients.

If you have an excellent product or service, don't become the discount king or queen...become the Exceptional Service Provider.

People don't mind paying for good quality service...because there is so little of it around!

If you mow a fifty lawns a week at $16 each, are people really going to mind if you increased your price to $17? Or what about even $20 - but each month you left them with a special report about how to care for some aspect of their lawn or garden for that month of the year - or maybe even threw some fertilizer on their grass! (They'll need to get you back even sooner if their grass grows better!)

You just added an additional $50 - $150 to your weekly profits - for very little extra work!

Think creatively!!

5. Develop your own Board of Directors

You probably know of other successful business operators in totally different fields from you, and their ideas could also be of benefit to your business.

Why not create your own Board of Directors. Offer to take them out to lunch as a group every two months and brainstorm for ideas on what they would do if they were running your business.

You may pick up two or three new ideas which is not a bad return on your investment of lunch!

Successful people love to share their ideas, so become a sponge and learn as much as you can!

Start applying these principles to your business today, and watch your profits grow!

Gainey's Back In The Groove

With a newfound perspective on both his career and life, Tommy Gainey has finally gotten his first ever win at a PGA Tour event during the 2012 McGladrey Classic. I wonder if he can pull another upset and win the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic...

As this ongoing PGA Tour event signifies the end of the current season, it ironically represents the start of Gainey's "two-gloved" progress in his career and in his life as well. He's not just another funky golf swinger that's struggling to make a name for himself on the tour. He has become a formidable opponent and he's beginning to gain attention among his peers. Who can forget about all of his birdies dropping in to finish at 10-under-par 60?

In an interview with the press just before the event at Lake Buena Vista, Orlando, Florida, the unconventional swinger mentioned how his first PGA victory has changed his life.

"Winning the McGladrey was indeed the best thing that has happened to me," he explained. "Let's just say that a lot of players were coming up and saying congratulations and great playing. They know how difficult it is to win here and now I have finally won. It took a long time because I believed I played like 150 or something to finally get a single win. So it's really hard. And all of them saying well done, means a lot."

With that victory weeks behind him now, Gainey has set his sights on one goal - going to Augusta. The baseball-style golfer obviously doesn't lack motivation because his win did not include an invitation for next year's Masters, something he is still seeking to pursue through world rankings.

An inclusion in the top 30 season-ending money list will send him to Magnolia Lane; however this week's top prize ($846,000) is just not enough to really make it. He is currently ranked 56th in the money list with a recorded earnings of $1,524,703; he will need around $959,392 to be included in that list.

Even if Gainey won't be able to go to Augusta National riding on a win at this Disney-sponsored classic, he'll be able to get there by winning a staple tour event at the FedEx Cup right before the Masters next spring. He can also reach it if he cracks the top 50 in world rankings either at the end of the year or a week before the coveted Masters. Either way, a win this week would definitely guarantee him a spot in the U.S. Open next year.

How to Blend Families

The task of blending families is daunting. A step-family is not the same as a biological family. It can be one of the most difficult maneuvers, even for otherwise successful parents and productive members of society. Different personal and family histories create expectations that seem impossible to adjust. What makes a marriage work does not make a step-family work.

Parents renew their dream of family life, which is often not shared by the children. And then, there are the other members of the family - the ex-spouses, or in other words, co-parents.

E. Mavis Heatherington reveals in her research documented in her book For Better or For Worse: Divorce Reconsidered, that is takes five to seven years of step-family tension to match the stress levels that of a husband and wife in a first marriage. Patricia Papernow agrees, saying that it takes a step-family an average of seven years to experience authenticity and intimacy. James Bray in his research found that a loving well-functioning step-family does not act or think like a family for two or three years. It can counteract the negative effects of divorce, but it takes time. Some experts suggest that it may take as many years as the age of the child at the time of remarriage. Meanwhile, protecting time within the biological sub-units of the step-family affirms that the relationships with primary attachments are protected. That is not an indication of family division. Step-parents can't expect to have the same kind of bond as with their biological children, but a bond can still grow to be strong.

Here are common step-family myths:

Love between family members will happen quickly. We will do it better this time around. Our children share our family dreams. Our family and parenting styles will blend well.

Actually most step-families will not be successful, with a 60 to 65 divorce rate. The chance of divorce when step-children are involved is 50 percent higher than remarriages without step-children. Making the marriage work is top priority. Parents may feel guilty that their kids had to suffer through a divorce, and may undermine their second marriage to cater to the kids. This extreme can be avoided along with the other extreme of expecting the step-family to be the same as a biological family. Parents need to confront each other behind closed doors, and never criticize a parent in front of the kids. The marriage, which may be one of the most vulnerable relationships in the step-family, needs to be protected and not in competition with the biological children. There is enough love and reassurance to go around for both relationships.

Co-parents that keep their kids out of conflict greatly increase the chance of the children's successful adjustment. Signs of cooperation between the parents are healing for the kids. Ron Deal, in his book The Smart Step-Family, compares the two homes of divorced parents to two countries with different customs and expectations. Imagine how hard it is for kids to adjust, and then imagine these two countries going to war. Every transition would be a move into enemy territory.

Giving the blended family to develop is crucial. Most tension is the result of pressure or expectations that are unrealistic or premature. Guard the marriage, a fragile relationship in a blended family, and the relationship with the biological children, a bond that needs to be respected. Take time and build a new relationship with the step-kids. When you first starting dating your new spouse, you took your time before you started acting like a spouse with the expectations of a spouse. Even though you may be living with your step-kids, take your time before acting like a parent with the expectations of a parent. From a child's point of view, the starting point of the relationship is when the children move in with a new step-parent, not the courtship. Biological parents and children have an attachment bond that is strong even before the kids can talk, and it has been strengthened over the years as the child has positive experiences or even wishes he or she has positive experiences with his or her mom and dad. In this context, the negativity from discipline is much better tolerated. As trust develops, so will one's influence.

How to Buy Cheap Ebooks

Wondering how you can avail of cheap ebooks online? Here's a detailed guide and lots of tips to help you out.

Want to join the electronic reading trend? You can start by buying an eBook reader and reading your first electronic book. But if you're new to the market, there's the danger of falling into the trap set by expensive ebooks. There's no need to spend a lot just to get your hands on the best eBook titles on the market.

First of all, get an ereader, a tablet, or any device that supports eBook formats. The main advantage, however, of reading electronic books is that you can read wherever you go without having to bring a bulky book with you, so it is best if you use a device that gives you the freedom and convenience of moving around.

Second, think of the book titles you want to read.

Next, check your ereader if it is supported by an eBook library from which you can download various titles. This is the easiest way to buy cheap ebooks as it is very convenient to simply download from these libraries. However, if the titles are not affordable or are not available there, you can also try other sources.

There are many sources of ebooks online, and some of them offer them at cheap prices or even for free. If you are looking for non-copyright titles, popular titles, and classic titles, you will most likely be able to find these on the web at a really low price. Many free downloads in various formats are also available.

Before you buy an ebook, browse the web first to see if the book is also available from other sources and at a cheaper price. This will help you save money on your reading.

There are also lending services online. You can join such communities so you can access a lot of titles at really low cost.

However, there are a few things to be aware of. Some eBook sources do not have legitimate right to distribute ebooks, so go only with legitimate and reputable services. Many classic books are available for free from online databases, but if some website is offering a highly anticipated and recently released title for free, beware of them as they might be guilty of violating copyright infringement laws. For the protection of the authors you support, it would be best to just look for the cheapest version of the book than to download from an illegitimate source.

6 Great Ways to Get Your Ex Back

1) Become confident and Strong

Do not show any weakness or negative emotion. If you show any signs of depression and drag your feet on the ground then no one is going to want to be around someone with such negative energy. Show confidence and be strong. This will give your Ex signs that you are stable and confident. And possibly get them the idea that you know they will come back to you. Keep yourself well dressed and have a good appearance about yourself. If you look good then you will feel good. So stay strong but do not get cocky and let your ego overtake your mindset. You want to be humble about this idea.

2) Keep Yourself Busy and Stay Flexible.

This is one of the best tricks to get your Ex back with you. This will also help your mind stay clear. Keep yourself busy and stay flexible. Sounds contradicting doesn't it? Well, there is a trick to this. When you keep yourself busy you doing are two things. Keeping yourself busy will help you keep your mind off any negative emotion you have about breaking up with your Ex and will stabilize your mood. However, you want to be flexible for you Ex. When your Ex notices you are busy and you happen to show them you will drop everything your doing to spend time with them is priceless. The fact that you made time for your Ex shows them how much you really care about them. This makes you look more sincere and will make your partner feel extremely special when they notice you have put a hold on everything just to spend time with them.

3) Minimize Contact for a Short Period

If you truly want your Ex back then you will probably call them 10 times a day and leave multiple voice mails on their phone. It's very tempting but do not do this! This will make you look desperate. As even if you tried to bring them back to your place and put your arm around your Ex will also make you look desperate. Breaking up is a phase that dramatically takes a huge toll on someone's emotions. So slowly work your way back into the whole contact stage. If you should call them do it once a day or once every few days to see how they are doing. If you should make physical contact give a soft kiss on the cheek and a gentle hug goodbye. If they make the first move of contact accept it mildly and don't push it too much. Give your Ex time to think but also let them know you are there when they need you. Remind them you still care and show them you are reliable if they should need to talk to you.

4) Good Memories are Everything

We all want to remember the good times in our lives. Do you remember your first date with your partner? Or the first time you revealed your love for them. These precious memories can be the key to mending a broken relationship. Take them out to the first restaurant you had dinner at, or a park where you had a romantic picnic. Try to sneak in the first romantic song you listened to with them. Find a picture of you two and frame it and put it somewhere so they can notice it. All this will show your Ex that you cherish the good memories and this will remind them why they fell in love with you in the first place. This phase will help bring back your Ex's true emotions for you and everything will start to come together.

5) Be More Involved with your Ex's Family and Friends

Yea, this sounds strange but its a big factor on getting your Ex to be back with you. This phase comes later in the process of winning your Ex back. Be more oriented and involved with your Ex's family and friends. Casually make a social event and invite everybody to come. You can even host a casual get together at your place or at a nice restaurant. If you need to find a reason just be casual and do it out of the kindness of your own heart. This will seem more genuine and sincere. Being flexible and having time to enjoy being around your Ex's family and friends is key. But, do not make your intentions obvious, which means keep conversations about your Ex to a minimum. If your Ex should come up in a conversation say only good things but be humble about it. Doing all this will give you points on getting your Ex back. Your Ex's friends and family will say so many good things about you.

6) Improve yourself, admit to mistakes, let them speak

This is pretty general here, obviously there was a reason on why your Ex left you. Show your Ex that you will change and become a better person. Admit to any mistake and promise them you will put in a lot of effort in improving your overall well being. If you need to see someone for advise or seek professional help do not be ashamed for that either. These are all just simple steps on creating a new relationship with your Ex that will be improved and less likely to fail again. And always listen to their feelings, let them speak, repeat what they say in your own words so they know you are listening and understand. Relationships have to go both ways but there is always an anchor and that sometimes has to be balanced out. If they are wrong about something do not point it out as much. Show them you can fix your own faults and they will surely eventually do the same for themselves.

If you truly cared about that person and would want to give it another chance then you should. It's better to try rather then give up and not try at all. So now that you've convinced yourself to give it another shot, you have to now convince them to give you another chance. So timing must be perfect and you must be patient as well. Let them slowly ease their way in back into your life. Do not rush things ever. Especially when you're trying to win your ex back. Keep simple contact, and wait for the opportunity to aspire.

Uses of a Cargo Handling Expert Witness

Cargo is any kind of goods packed for shipping and transported from one place to another. The goods are transported generally for commercial gain by exporting, or importing. These goods include automobiles, containers of salt, oil, tallow, timber, coal, or other scrap material, logs, wood chips, auto parts, machinery, meat, seafood etc.

Cargo transport is also known as freight transport. There are a number of different kinds of transport available to move products from place to place, for example by ships, aircrafts, trains, vans, and trucks. Whenever a cargo casualty occurs, cargo is likely to be damaged. In such situations, a cargo handling specialist provides opinion and testimony in all types of cargo handling accidents including aircraft, ship, train, car, van, and truck accident. A cargo handling professional attempts to use engineering research to reconstruct the accident and damages of an event by providing witness testimony and proofs of evidence (such as computer animation) in a clear and systematic fashion. They also determine the extent of damage to the cargoes, its contamination, and its root cause. Their job is all about pursuing claims against the carriers of goods by transported through different means.

There are also situations when the imported cargo is not exactly what was ordered to be. In such situations it is important to seek help of a litigation expert to claim the actual goods. A cargo handling expert helps resolve charter disputes, and help to craft a winning case strategy through case evaluation, research, consultation, series of investigation, and more. They give expert witness surveys and opinions for law firms and help to recover goods by handling such situations efficiently. A cargo handling expert witness can be hired by both sides of a case to support their arguments.

A cargo handling expert witness also suggests how cargo can be handled safely. He aims to provide all kinds of basic knowledge of safety including safe features and equipments, safe means of access, proper use of lifting appliances, safe operation of container handling, and hygiene and health matters related to shipboard cargo handling.

These experts also suggest some latest methods for load securing. An example of these methods include polyester strapping, steel strapping, and bracing. They provide service for cargo claims by different means such as negotiation and litigation to achieve the desired results.

A cargo handling expert witness is hired on the basis of his credentials, his qualification, his experience, and his up to date knowledge of the latest requirements regarding cargo shipment for an expert witness testimony.

Wills and Family Agreements

There are a significant number of generous parents who purchase properties for their adult children.

The agreement varies from the parents legally owning the house, to the house being placed in the child's name absolutely. The matter is further complicated if the house is placed in the name of the adult child and his or her partner. These good intentions can result in family warfare.

Who does own the house? Is there any money owing to the parents? What promises have been made? The parents have both passed away. What does the Will say?

In these situations the child often refers to the house, which is in their parents' name, as "my house". The parents may have a different interpretation of the arrangement and see the house as their house simply occupied by the child. You can see how there is confusion. In the event that the parents die, there is only one side of the story.

If the house is in the name of the child it is not a part of the estate of the deceased parent; if the house is in the name of the parent, then it is a part of the estate of the deceased parent and controlled by the deceased's Will. I am sure you can now see the problem evolving.

Peter and Carol had been living in a house they regarded as "their house".

However, it was formally owned by Peter's father who had purchased the house by advancing the deposit and borrowing the balance in his name. Peter and Carol couldn't get a loan but they made all the mortgage payments. It had always been the understanding that the house was really the property of Peter and Carol. They had been encouraged by the father to improve the property; put an addition on the back of the house; fix the electrical wiring; replace the gutters; improve the gardens and paint the exterior.

What everyone failed to do was set out in writing what the agreement was and amend the Will.

Peter's father died unexpectedly. The family feud began.

Peter's brothers and sisters were not really interested in hearing Peter's interpretation of what the arrangement was in relation to the house. They adopted the rigid position that the house was owned by their father and formed a part of his estate to be distributed in accordance with his will. The Will of Peter's father simply said, "I give the whole of my estate to be divided equally between my children."(He had meant to fix that up given the agreement he had with Peter.) Peter and Carol claimed the house but there was little to support their claim.

The moral of this story is to document what it is you intend when providing financial assistance to your children. What is clear now may not be clear to your estate after you have passed on.

Clear documentation of family arrangements and intentions will remove argument and discontent after you have passed on.

3 Reasons People Aren't Subscribing To Your Email Newsletter

Starting an email newsletter is one of the best things you can do to help establish your credibility and make a stronger, more personal connection with your readers. However, it's getting tougher and tougher to get people to subscribe. Here are 3 reasons people aren't subscribing to your newsletter and what you can do to help them along.

They're Afraid

First, there's a difference between subscribing to an email newsletter and subscribing to a marketing list. Most people are afraid to subscribe to your newsletter because they think you're just going to use it as an opportunity to send them all those promotional emails that Internet Marketers are known for.

Make it clear to your readers that your newsletter is packed full of relevant, useful information and that you don't intend to try to sell them anything. And then stick to your word. Don't ask them to join your list, either. Instead, ask them to subscribe to your newsletter.

You Aren't Telling Them Why They Should Give You Their Email Address

Offering a free gift for subscribing to your list is a common ploy among Internet marketers and your readers are on to you. If they think all they're going to get is a free download, no matter how great it is, most people will not subscribe to a list.

The will, however, subscribe to a newsletter if they know it's going to be filled with helpful tips and information, something they can use. Something other than promotional rhetoric. And the term 'newsletter' implies they're going to be receiving this quality information from you on a regular basis - something else your subscribers will like.

Don't worry. A lot of your readers aren't going to subscribe the minute you put that opt-in form on your blog. Every time you send out another issue of your newsletter, remind your blog readers that they're missing out on some great information. Each time you do you'll have more people subscribe.

You're Not Targeting Your Audience

It could be that you're not being specific enough when you tell your readers about your newsletter. Simply telling them you're publishing a weekly newsletter filled with tips isn't enough. Solve one specific problem with your newsletter, just like you do your blog content.

For example, let's say you have the ever-popular dog training blog. If you've been trying to push your Dog Training newsletter without any luck, try narrowing your focus to one problem. Start a newsletter for New Puppy Training and one for Training Your Dog To Run an Obstacle Course and one for Training Your Service Dog. There's nothing that says you can't have more than one newsletter.

Before you can effectively ask your readers to subscribe your newsletter you need to be sure that you understand the difference between your list subscribers and your newsletter subscribers because you need to treat them differently from the very beginning. You can send your information-packed newsletter to both groups and they'll love you for it. But your newsletter subscribers aren't going to be happy when you send them those promotional emails.

In fact, take a look at your open rate on your marketing list and compare it to the open rate on your newsletter. If it's not that great, you might want to consider sending your newsletter to both groups instead of sending all that marketing garbage. Since they're already on your list you should try to make them happy.
